Great parking changes in effect

Written by Press release.

Lynn Valley Centre and Lynn Valley Town Centre are welcoming customers to all shops, restaurants and facilities in the area with up to three hours of free parking, regardless of what establishments customers choose to patronize. Parking lot signage has been updated to reflect this.

“We have listened to community feedback regarding parking,” says Lorelei Guthrie, Bosa Development Shopping Centre Manager. “Most Vancouver-area commercial hubs only offer pay or metered parking, or require parking ticket validation to have parking fees rebated. Working with the various parking providers involved, we want to make everyone doing business feel welcome with three hours of free parking at Lynn Valley Centre’s at-grade parking lot and Lynn Valley Town Centre’s underground parking lot. We want them to know that they are part of the Lynn Valley community, and Lynn Valley Centre retailers appreciate their patronage.”Construction work by Bosa Development is underway on The Residences at Lynn Valley, Lynn Valley’s first master-planned community, providing new opportunities for businesses and homeowners within six residential buildings (over 350 homes), and additional commercial space that will include a 43,000 square feet anchor grocery store. Construction is also taking place to rejuvenate Lynn Valley Centre. When completed in 2019, the new Lynn Valley Centre will offer 243 newly-created parking stalls, several of which will include electrical vehicle charging stations.Bosa Development is also currently exploring options to increase parking capacity in the short-term through other methods, such as the removal or repositioning of concrete islands within the parking lots, and increased options for those who choose cycling over driving. The new homeowners at The Residences at Lynn Valley will have their own designated parking and will not be using those additional 243 stalls created.

Lynn Valley is quickly becoming a hot spot for young families and providing new and interesting residential options for longtime residents, with the Lynn Valley Centre and Town Centre area acting as the commercial hub of this revitalized and increasingly vibrant, walkable, transit-oriented community. The Residences at Lynn Valley and the new Lynn Valley Centre will be a major contributor to this revitalization, with the inclusion of extensive new public art installations and a community courtyard, along with other gathering places around the mall’s exterior. In total, Bosa Development will be providing $4.5 million in community amenities, including $1.6 million to the District of North Vancouver for upgrades to the Hwy 1 interchange at Lynn Valley Road and for new community bike lanes.
