Traversing with Photography is a series that explores Steve Tornes’s travels through Iceland, the Canadian Rockies, Switzerland and local hikes. With his camera, Steve tries to capture the relationship between viewer and object. Primarily a wildlife photographer, he hopes to share with you a world without people; a perspective that suggests that an old, natural world can be found, "but not entered."Steve invites you to look at the world through the eyes of the wildlife, nature and landscapes that become it. Steve is an emerging photographer and this will be his first public exhibition.
About Steve Tornes
Steve is a graduate student studying Urban Studies at Simon Fraser University and is involved in community driven projects. With a new focus on urban environments and sustainability, he has become fascinated by photography and has come to reaffirm that our relationship to the natural world is not only essential, but precarious.
